E-collar uses "some chemical to cause a quick shock", really?
This was someone’s answer in another pet forum…Obviously, he/she’s quite ignorant about it.
"…but I definitely will NOT advice getting the anti-bark collar. Reason is that it uses some chemical to cause a quick shock to your dog which I do not really encourage. Secondly, sooner or later, they will get use to the smell & start barking again. I’d strongly advice on working from the cause of the bark instead and find a a way to stop it, or around it."

sounds like user is confused
there are citronella collars, but they do not emit a shock.. they let out a mist of citronella scent, which dogs dont like. Its a slightly more humane way to correct barking than to use a shock collar.. but some dogs may get used to the odor.

Is she talking about a citronella collar or that actual e-collars that give a jolt? Either way there aren’t any chemicals used on these collars, though I wouldn’t recommend them either as they’re quite cruel. but I know many people that do use them including a local rescue.
